Sara is a Master Reiki Practitioner, trained in the Usui system of natural healing. As a registered member of the UK Reiki Federation, she offers professional and ethical Reiki treatments delivered with care and integrity.
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive practice that supports the body’s natural healing processes by promoting balance, relaxation and overall wellbeing. Sara tailors each session to meet the individual needs of her clients, providing a calm and restorative experience that encourages clarity, renewal and emotional support.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained or simply in need of time for yourself, Reiki offers a peaceful way to reset your energy.
03 What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese complementary wellbeing practice developed by Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century. The word Reiki is commonly understood as “universal life energy” — a traditional belief in energy flowing through living things.
During an in-person session, Sara lightly places her hands on or just above the clothed body in a slow progression of positions. There is no massage or manipulation, and the experience is calm, non-invasive and led at your comfort level.
Reiki has no religious doctrine and is open to people of all backgrounds and belief systems.
04 The Usui tradition
The Reiki principles invite a calmer way of meeting the day: releasing worry and anger, acting honestly, practising humility and choosing compassion. Many people use them as a simple daily focus for reflection, emotional balance and a more positive mental outlook.
Pause before reacting and notice worry without letting it lead the day.
Bring attention to thoughts, emotions and the energy you carry into each moment.
Meet yourself and others with honesty, humility and kindness.
05 Energy healing
Biofield healing, sometimes called energy healing, is an umbrella term for complementary wellbeing practices based on the belief that living beings are surrounded and permeated by a subtle field of energy.
In different traditions, this energy may be described as ki, chi, qi, prana or life-force energy. Practices such as Reiki are founded on the idea that supporting balance within this energy field may encourage relaxation, harmony and a greater sense of wellbeing.

The Reiki experience
People experience Reiki differently. These descriptions reflect the emotional, spiritual and relaxation experiences clients commonly value; they are not promises of a medical outcome.
Reiki creates a calm setting in which to slow down, switch off from everyday demands and make space for stillness.
Some clients describe warmth, tingling, heaviness, lightness or deep stillness during a session; others simply feel deeply rested.
Reiki offers a supportive space to slow down and reconnect with what may be happening beneath the surface.
For those drawn to Reiki’s spiritual aspect, a session can be a meaningful practice for inner alignment and self-connection.
Reiki is not tied to any religion or belief system.
How Reiki may support you
People often seek Reiki when they want to pause, reconnect and restore a sense of personal balance.
What Reiki feels like
Clients commonly describe sessions as calming, warm, peaceful, grounding, deeply restful, emotionally releasing, soothing or comforting. Some drift into a meditative or sleep-like state.
Who is Reiki for?
Reiki may appeal if you are looking for relaxation, time for yourself or a quiet way to reconnect. It can sit alongside meditation, breathwork, yoga, journalling, counselling, massage and mindful self-care.
07 Research & responsible practice
Reiki is used as a complementary therapy in a range of wellbeing and care settings. Research has explored relaxation, stress, anxiety, pain perception, comfort and quality of life, with a number of studies and reviews reporting promising findings.
The evidence is still developing and results vary by study design and quality. Sara therefore describes Reiki honestly as a complementary relaxation and wellbeing practice: a personal experience that may offer calm, comfort and spiritual connection, without promising a medical outcome.
Reiki is not a diagnosis, medical treatment or cure, and it should not replace advice or care from a qualified healthcare professional.
